1. What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains how EMBR Tax Ltd ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on embrtax.com.
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which sets out how we handle personal data more generally.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to give the people who run the site information about how it's used.
We also use related technologies that work in a similar way, including:

- Pixels and tags — small invisible images used to track page views and email opens.
For simplicity, we refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.
3. Your choices
When you first visit embrtax.com you will see a consent banner powered by Cookiebot. You can:

- Reject all non-essential cookies, or
- Customise which categories you accept.
Strictly necessary cookies are always on — they are required for the site to work. All other cookies are off by default until you give consent.
You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of any page.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings — see aboutcookies.org or allaboutcookies.org for instructions. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the site from working.
4. How we categorise cookies
We follow the standard ICO categorisation:
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to function (e.g. security, load balancing). No consent required.
- Preferences — remember choices you make, such as language or region. Consent required.
- Statistics — help us understand how visitors use the site, anonymously where possible. Consent required.
- Marketing — used to identify visitors across sessions and sites, for marketing and remarketing. Consent required.

5.2 Statistics (require consent)
We do not currently use any statistics cookies. Our hosting platform's built-in analytics have been disabled for this site, so no analytics identifiers, page-hit pings, or session trackers run on embrtax.com — with or without consent. If we add analytics in future (for example to measure how visitors use our calculators), we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

We do not currently use any advertising or remarketing cookies (Meta Pixel, Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight, TikTok Pixel, etc.). If we add any in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent.

7. Do Not Track signals
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no agreed standard for how DNT should be interpreted, so we do not currently respond to DNT signals. Instead, please use the cookie banner to set your preferences.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example when we add or remove a third-party service. The "Last updated" date at the top will show when it was last changed. If we add a new cookie category, we will ask for your consent again via the banner.
